TAA Education proposal
To create a high-quality ENRICHMENT PACKAGE for implementation
in the classroom providing art education, broadening humanities
curriculum and strengthening literacy development. In addition

exercises and supplementary materials.
To align the Enrichment Package with New York State Standards
in Arts as well as the Humanities and Language Arts.
To utilize current teachers to create authentic feedback and to
generate product materials.
To create a PACKAGE fulfilling education mandates as outlined
in Title III NCLB funding usage.
Audience: General Education Classroom, K-12 students, General
Education teacher, school-wide assembly with in-class expansion
unit
Product Users/Administrators: K-12 Classroom General Education
Teachers, Representative artists
Rational: The pending cuts in art education in the New York City
public school system open a large need for reform in art education
in the classroom. Students benefit from creative self-expression
while being engaged on a literary and highly visual level. The
TAA Artist Biography Video provides a rich source of information
about a specific artist, his or her artwork and experience as an
artist. The package will provide teachers and students the
opportunity to view the artist video and interact with the information
on a grade and age appropriate level. Students will be able
to process information, respond to prompts about the video as well
as create art pieces referencing the style or inspiration presented
in the artists video. There may also be opportunities for artist
visits providing personal interaction and guidance in the classroom.
