What is The Radius Project?
The Radius Project is a unique exploration of neighborhoods that helps people discover the imaginative
efforts and accomplishments happening within a one-mile radius of where they live.
Through a blend of storytelling, guided talks, and local tours, we reveal how creative minds transform
local life—socially, environmentally, and emotionally. From public art to grassroots sustainability efforts,
we show the tangible impact of imaginative thinking that is shaping the world right outside our doors.
How It Works
Participants are invited to local libraries, schools, and community centers, where each event reimagines
the neighborhood as a vibrant hub for curiosity and connection. Film Screenings feature:
• Artists – Driving local creative expression and dynamic storytelling
• Environmentalists – Defending and nurturing local land, water and air
• Volunteers – Connecting people through compassion and acts of service in times of need
Our films honor local people who are using their imagination to enrich the quality of their own neighborhoods.
Why It Matters
These public events bring people together to discover how a community can be a source of useful knowledge,
expression, and well-being. Neighbors engage in intergenerational conversations about how we benefit
from free expression, environmental stewardship and community engagement.
Educational Approach
Our informal learning objectives are rooted in place, emotion, and problem-solving. People grow
through fun discussions about experiential education, critical thinking and emotional Intelligence.
Mission
The Radius Project celebrates the limitless potential of an imaginative neighborhood. We invite
you to watch a film, join a tour, and help nurture the next generation of local leaders, thinkers, and doers
—right where we live.
