In our interview with renowned singer Pete Seeger, he stated, “It's the little things in life that help societies improve every day.”
As an artist, Pete was using free expression to help the people around him care for their environment, and most importantly, care for each other.
The Radius Project believes that there are imaginative people in our own communities who help their neighborhoods thrive through these common-sense values.
Our hyperlocal films, discussions, and tours bring neighbors together to rediscover their neighborhood through the lens of free expression, environmentalism, and generosity between people.
Our process for filming imaginative thinkers in a neighborhood
We ask PTAs, schools, civic groups, environmental advocates, and arts orgs to nominate inspiring local achievements, then make a short doc film about their story.
Each film is screened within a one-mile radius of its subject, encouraging community dialogue.
Screenings include facilitated Q&A sessions with parents, educators, historians, and the featured artists, environmentalists, and volunteers.
Our archive already contains over 100 short films from a variety of neighborhoods.
The Radius Project free public events transform community centers, libraries, and schools into living think tanks for future visionaries.
