How does the Radius Project work?
Each film available on this website automatically establishes a location, or the center of a radius. The neighborhood where the film was produced becomes a subject for research and development of local Artists, Environmentalists, and volunteer organizations.
Rather than focusing solely on well-known cultural institutions, we map a “radius” around a specific point—often a street, block, or community hub—and uncover the thinkers, makers, and innovators who enrich the identity of a neighborhood.
We work with PTA, arts, environmental orgs, residents, and civic leaders to identify local artists, environmental stewards, and volunteer orgs who are making a difference.
A short film is produced and presented at a public screening with a conversation about the diverse impact of local visionaries.
Our post-film Q & A encourages parent-to-parent discussions on strategies for first conversations with children on who artists, environmentalists, and volunteers are, and what their activities, efforts, and accomplishments are.
Our radius-approach maps a community into hubs of exploration, discovery, and local knowledge. We blend intergenerational discussions with tours that help audiences reimagine their community as an inspiration to future thinkers, leaders, and doers.
These interactive, thematic experiences convert community centers, libraries, and schools into think-tanks for future visionaries.
